We Don't Just Look at Grades

We look at you. Your resilience, your vision, your potential. If your transcript doesn't tell your whole story, we want to hear it.

Who We Select

The world is full of talented students with perfect scores. But SINCxEDU seeks something rarer: young people who've faced real adversity, persevered through it, and emerged with a vision to change their communities. If your transcript doesn't tell your whole story—if your greatest achievement isn't on paper—we want to hear from you.

Your resilience is your résumé

How we evaluate every applicant

across four dimensions — 100 points total

Who Should Apply?

✅ You should apply if:

  • You've faced significant challenges but refused to let them define your limits
  • You dream about solving problems in your community
  • You're academically capable but financially unable to afford university
  • You come from a background where higher education seems impossible
  • You have a fire in you to prove that circumstances don't determine destiny
  • You're willing to work hard and lift others as you rise
  • You believe education is a right, not a privilege
  • You're ready to join a global community of changemakers

❌ SINCxEDU might not be for you if:

  • You already have full funding for university
  • You're primarily motivated by prestige rather than impact
  • You're not willing to engage with the SINCxEDU community post-graduation
  • You can't articulate why you care about social change
  • You've had every advantage and faced few obstacles (there are other scholarships better suited for you)

Long list of awards

Depth over breadth

Polished, privileged background

Real challenges, real growth

"Impressive" activities (what looks good)

International travel/exposure

Local impact and community care

Expensive test prep scores

Self-taught skills and determination

Letters from important people

Letters that show true character

Your Story Matters

The world tells you that success looks one way: straight A's, perfect scores, impressive awards.

But SINCxEDU believes something different.

We believe that the student who walked 2 hours to school every day has learned discipline that can't be taught.

We believe that the teenager who taught themselves to code because their school had no computer classes has more determination than someone who was handed everything.

We believe that the young woman who defied cultural expectations to finish high school has courage that will change her generation.

Your resilience is not a disadvantage—it's your superpower.

The barriers you've overcome have given you skills that privileged students will never develop: resourcefulness, grit, perspective, empathy, and hunger for change.

SINCxEDU doesn't want perfect students. We want real students with real stories and real potential to create real change.

If that's you, we're looking for you.

SINCxEDU Mission

Identify high-potential secondary-school students who lack access to higher education and provide full scholarships, internships, and post-graduation pathways that create outsized social impact. We transform adversity into opportunity by unlocking the leadership potential of resilient youth.
